Sew On: No backing, you sew this patch on your item
Iron On: Iron On Backing, attach with Polyester heat setting, covered with protective paper, press and hold 5 seconds at a time until adhesion.
Hook: Rough side velcro backing, attaches to the opposite, Loop side on your item.
Loop: Soft Loopy side velcro backing, attaches to the opposite, Hook side on your item.
